Goal

We ran this project in 2018.

Goal is a sport for development project which uses sport and life skills education to developed leadership and transform the lives of adolescent girls. Created by Standard Chartered in 2006, the curriculum is primarily designed for girls ages 12-18 around the world. The project is divided into four modules Be Yourself, Be Healthy, Be Empowered and Be Money Savvy which focus on one of four key life skills: communication, health and hygiene, rights and financial literacy.

The project has been implemented in schools across Lusaka and now we are excited to become the implementing partner to NOWSPAR here in Petauke Distric, Eastern Province. We will reach 300 girls each year through sport-based leadership skill building and financial literacy activities as one step in their process of economic empowerment.

We have identified 6 different schools within Petauke district where 50 girls from grade 5-6 is participating from each school. Our trained rural changers will meet the girls on the school on a weekly basis throughout the school year for sport and life-skills session. These are the same girls until they have finished all the four modules.

The first trainings for our rural changers was conducted in April 2018 and we launched the project during our big festival in the end of the same month.
